(1) Crush
Ueda was up again. Talking to her. He’s been loosing a lot of sleep because of her, waking up at 5, sleeping at 3. What did he do at during those hours? A variety of things, doing her homework, listening to her talk on about the person that she loved, and comfort her when her loved one looked at someone else, many things.

It wasn’t like he minded or anything, the homework was easy, listening to her voice was enough for him, and when he comforted her, he felt as if he was needed. But when one night, she asked for him to introduce her to his friend (Who was her loved one). He broke. Broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued together.

He wanted her happy, even if it meant that he wouldn’t be able to make her pleased. Not being able to say no, he agreed.

So on February 18th, the day of her birthday, the day that he was going to confess, it was made official that Minako and Kenji were dating. The beautiful child, and the intelligent ruler*, they were perfect for each other, and he was envious of them. But, being the person who he was, he was happy for them. He didn’t get in between their relationship, even if he was loosing the relationship that he had with Minako.

Making up his mind, he followed his parent’s wish and moved on March 3rd to an all boys’ private school.

His heart was broken, broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued back together.

(2) Crush
Somehow along the way in his troubled life, he grew addicted to going to nightclubs. He once wondered why he went to them in the first place. Lying in bed, he continued to ponder, finally coming up with an answer that satisfied him.

He wanted to show people that he wasn’t a quiet submissive person who cried at every insult, that he wasn’t a soft-spoken man that would be easily controlled.

While he was dancing, he felt as if he was a different person, he was more confident, outgoing. He was able to do things that he wouldn’t be able to do any other time. As if there was a whole different Ueda just waiting to burst out from inside of him. He was a completely new person.

One night, he was dancing to a song, if you asked him, he wouldn’t know. He wasn’t paying attention to anything; just the fast beat of the song. When suddenly he felt warm arms wrap around his waist. He looked up only to see a familiar face. Tadashi. He couldn’t believe his eyes, why would Kurosawa Tadashi be here? One of the top students in his school, one of the highest achievers, why him? Why his crush?

Feeling shocked and embarrassed, he blushed and pried the arms off his waist, running off of the dance floor. Only to be stopped by Tadashi grabbing his arm, pulling him into his warm hug. “Ah…Um, Kurosawa-san? Can you, ah…Let go of me?” He felt himself going back into his timid self.

“Just for a while Tatsuya.” They stayed like that for a few more seconds until Tadashi let him out of his embrace. Ueda looked down at their hands, still intertwined. “Kurosawa?” He pulled his arm, “My hand?”

Tadashi ignored his comments and dragged Ueda off the dance floor and into an empty room. While he was being pulled into the room, he still tried to break away from him, but it seemed that Tadashi had a grip of iron.

Fed up with Ueda struggling, he pushed him up against the wall. When Ueda finally stopped struggling, Tadashi let go of his grip on Ueda. “Tatsuya, I’m sorry. It’s just…when I saw you dancing with that man, I just, I felt anger and jealously run through me.”

He sounds so sincere, Ueda thought. Lifting his head, he looked up into his dark brown eyes. Feeling himself drown in them, he looked back down, letting the fact that he was dancing alone slip his mind.

He fell back into shock when he heard words that he thought he would never hear, especially from the other’s mouth. Managing to make his brain start functioning, he was able to stutter out he word ‘What?’

Smiling Tadashi, repeated what he said earlier. “I think I like you Ueda Tatsuya.” There was a silence in between them. Ueda blushing, and Tadashi simply continuing to smile. “I know that you like me too, Tatsuya. Why don’t you just say so?”

He thought it over, if he didn’t tell him, then he would loose his chance. Tadashi liked him; he liked Tadashi, what was there to loose?

Gaining his courage, Ueda muttered something. Laughing, Tadashi poked the shorter man, “I can’t hear you, Tatsuya. Say it louder.” Taking a deep breath, he gathered all his courage again, repeating his words, his hopes high. “Kurosawa-san, I like you too.” Ueda looked down to hide his blush. Feeling a warm hand gently take his chin, he slowly lifted his head only to see the taller man bend down, seemingly getting ready for a kiss.

Closing his eyes, he leaned upwards waiting for soft luscious lips to meet his own. Only to open his eyes to Tadashi crouching over, laughing silently. Looking around, he saw many of his upperclassmen standing around the room. Eyes widening when he saw one with a camera. He broke. Broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued together.

“It seems that pretty boy’s actually a pretty gay boy.” The one with the camera spat out. Ueda looked down at Tadashi, tears starting to form. “Awww… Pretty boy’s going to cry now?” He smirked; something Ueda couldn’t believe could fit on his face. Wishing that he could see the smile that looked perfect on his face once more.

He ran. He ran as fast as he could, not looking back. While the hot tears were streaming down his face, the only thought that raced through his head was, loyal my ass. Go die in a black swamp. *

After that night, he decided to never step a foot in a night club again, afraid that Tadashi would be there, waiting to break him again.

When he returned to school on the next day, pictures of him waiting to be kissed were posted everywhere; the intercom was playing his confession over and over. The video played in the cafeteria. Running

He moved away again, this time, to live with his parents.

His heart was broken, broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued back together.

(3) Parents
When he suddenly moved back into his parent’s house, they were surprised. His mother was happy to see that her child has come back to into her arms again. His father…he was apathetic as always, Ueda was hurt by the lack of emotion, but he got use to it.

Dinner between the three was normal. Dead silence. Save for his mother trying to lighten up the atmosphere by telling little stories of her day and what she bought when she went to the mall.

When dinner was over, they went their ways; his parent’s heading towards their room, and himself heading towards the living room to watch Brothers. While watching the last episode, he wished that he could meet Tsubasa Imai. Thinking of the possible ways, he could, he decided to join Johnny’s Entertainment.

He didn’t have the skills, but really? Who did?

Heading upstairs to tell his parent’s about his new life plan. Stopping at the door, he held up his hand to knock, but the conversation on the other side stopped him.

“The boy is gay, Tomiko.”

“We should just accept him the way he his, Otto.” He heard the hurt in his mother’s voice.

“No, Tomiko, we need to send him to therapy. How will he take over the business if he’s gay? How will you get grandchildren? You saw the video those children sent us. There’s no denying it, our son is gay.” His father’s voice was monotone as always, but for some reason, this time it hurt so much more then usual.

He waited for his mother to defend him, to yell at his father, to tell him that it didn’t matter if he liked boys, girls, or both. He waited and waited. And he will forever be waiting.

“Does therapy really work?” His mother, his own mother broke him. He broke. Broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued together.

“Tomiko, don’t worry. Many of my friends had sent their own sons to therapy; do you remember Yoshito?” His wife nodded, “He sent his son to therapy, and now look at him, he has four grandchildren.”

At that moment, he barged into their room; he couldn’t stand it when his father compared him to others, “I won’t go, even if you force me to.” He looked into his father’s eyes. The same pair of eyes he wished to see just a hint of respect directed to him.

Quickly looking away, he looked at his mother, and walking towards her, “Don’t worry mother, I’ll join Johnny’s Entertainment. Then I’ll find a nice girl, marry her and have children for you” He smiled, turned around and walked out the door. Missing the look of guilt on his father’s face.

In May, he signed up for auditions and in June, he joined Johnny’s Entertainment. (Johnny reminded him of his father, both somewhat bald.)

He met many girls, but none of them sparked any interest in him. He was still young. There were many years in front of him.

He snorted; he knew that he would never find a girl that will spark any interest in him; or even one that would make his father and mother happy. He thought about his father again. Wishing that he could somehow just see a little hint of respect in his father’s eyes.

His heart was broken, broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued back together.

(4) Best friend
His best friend, Yuudai *, was his hero. Yuudai was the one who helped him cope with his parents. Comforted him when he cried; defended him when other’s insulted him, and lent his hand to him when he needed it the most.

So it was natural that Ueda helped him when Yuudai needed help. Giving him money when he needed it, paid for his bill when he didn’t have the money, he didn’t mind. It’s what friends do.

One day, promising to meet Yuudai in a nearby restaurant by Johnny’s Entertainment. Learning his entire dance routine earlier then usual, he walked to the restaurant, 30 minutes early.

Looking into the restaurant, he saw Yuudai sitting in their usual spot, but he wasn’t alone. He knew he shouldn’t be spying, but he couldn’t resist, he wanted to know why Yuudai was smirking. Squinting his eyes, he tried to look through the window. And not being able to see anything, he quickly sneaked in, and sat in a booth far enough away from them that they couldn’t see him, but close enough for him to hear.

“Yuudai, why are you hanging around with Pretty Boy?”

Yuudai smiled, something that he was use to, but he quickly snorted, his face immediately turned into something he will despise. “Why would I hang out with a pretty boy like Ueda? The only thing pretty about him is his credit card.”

“Just hurry up and get the money by the end of this week, or we’ll double it”

In shock, Ueda ran away, his best friend. His own best friend, his own best friend broke him. He broke. Broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued together.

Stopping himself, he ran back to the restaurant, before he entered, he put on a fake smile. Walking in, he went towards Yuudai. He sat down, and ordered two cups cappuccino to go.

Yuudai tilted his head and was smiling again, a fake one obviously. “Are we going somewhere?”

Ueda shook his head, “No, why did you want to meet me, anyways?”

Yuudai frowned, his eyes clearly showing sadness. “The hospital is demanding more money for my mother’s surgery.” Ueda didn’t buy it anymore, but he played along. “She’s in the hospital near your house, right?” Yuudai nodded, “I’ll just send the money over there.”

The other’s eyes slightly widened, “No, no! You don’t have to do that, Tatsuya, you already did enough, you can just give the money to me and I’ll bring it over to the hospital.”

“Liar.” Ueda was fed up with him, angry that he was only liked because of his money, “I don’t want to see you anymore. I’ll give you the money, just,” He paused, taking deep breaths as if it would help his heart from the pain. “Just, don’t come near me again.”

He quickly took out his checkbook and wrote down an amount. Glaring at Yuudai, he threw the paper at him, and taking off the cap of one of his cappuccinos, he poured it all over the man that was sitting across from him. Standing up, he walked away, and never looked back. Tears threatened to fall down his face.

His heart was broken, broken into a million pieces, unable to be glued back together.

(+1) KAT-TUN

K
Kame, he was one of his greatest friends. In the beginning, their relationship was close to nothing. All they were band mates, colleagues. Slowly, they became better friends when Kame protected him when fellow juniors were insulting him, or even the well respected seniors.

Getting to know each other more, Ueda didn’t think that Kame was a stuck up overachieving kid and Kame didn’t think that Ueda was a rich kid, joining JE for the heck of it. Officially taking Ueda under his wing, the two became great friends. Helping each other as much as they could. This time, it wasn’t just one sided.

Kame gave him the friendship that he needed. And it was all the friendship that he wanted.

A
The first time that he met Jin, he yelled out the words, “Ueda-sempai!” and bowed quickly. He was embarrassed, but he learned to get use to it. And later on, he enjoyed it; he liked the admiration. Even though Jin doesn’t call him sempai anymore, he still felt the respect that Jin gave him. They became good friends; they became great friends.

They often slept on each other’s shoulders when during photo shots, filming, or anything else that was basically boring. Jin took him out of his shell, showed him things that he never thought that existed. Even though Jin was more successful then him, and got all the girls, he still saw the respect in his eyes when Ueda looked into them.

Jin gave him the respect that he needed. And it was all the respect that he wanted.

T
“Tatsuya, I think – I know, that I, I” Junno stopped to take a deep breath to calm his nerves. “I love you.”

Ueda stared at him with a mellow, bored expression. “If this is another joke of yours, Junno, it’s not very funny.” He turned around and continued to put on his make up. When he heard the three words, his heart skipped a beat. He was eager to return the other’s feelings, but he was afraid.

There was a silence, Junno was trying to find the right words to show that he was serious once in his life, hoping that Ueda would return his feelings.

He knew about the other man’s insecurity, and he would wait. “I loved you, love you, and will always love you.” The sincerity in his voice convinced Ueda.

Turning around towards Junno, he saw the honesty in his eyes. The sincerity in his voice and the honesty in his eyes captured Ueda, and the owner never planned to let go.

Junno gave him all the love that he needed. And it was all the love that he wanted.

T
Koki. Koki was hard to get use to, but the way he acted around everyone made it hard not to like him. Koki was always there to take care of all the darks of his life. When his parents came to visit, he told them that he was busy in a meeting. Even if his parents (More like his mother) persisted that they could wait, he continued to insist that they should leave, and he would tell Ueda that they came by.

Not only did he protect him from his parents, when Yuudai came back asking for more, telling him that everything was fake, that he really was his friend, Koki beat him up. He had Yuudai running like a baby that he was.

Afterwards, Koki would bring him to his house and they would play the piano, letting all of his worries go away.

Koki gave him the protection that he needed. And it was all the protection that he wanted.

N

Nakamaru was like an older brother to him, and they went out together a lot. Making it seem that they were in a relationship. Nakamaru took care of him like an older brother, and at times, like a father, like a mother. Ueda would get sick easily, and when he would, Nakamaru’s motherly side would kick in, pampering him in everyway possible.

When he would need help, Nakamaru would be there, taking on the roll of an older brother who cared for his sibling. When he needed advice, the older man would act like a father to him. Giving him as much guidance as he needed.

Nakamaru gave him the care that he needed. And it was all the care that he wanted.

KAT-TUN
When he was hurt, which occurred a lot, they comforted him, and in return, he comforted them. Their relationship was unique, it wasn’t like the member-ai that NEWS had, or the friendship that Hey! Say! had, but they were close.

Each helped another in various ways. They were a family. But Jin left, they were on a verge of letting go, giving up all they worked for until Ueda invited them all over to his house. During that time, they somehow bonded, managing to endure six months with out 1/6 of their members.

When Jin came back, it wasn’t a walk in a sunflower field. But they managed to get through it; it felt as if they went back to their debuting days. Ueda saw this happening, and as the leader, organized dinner plans with the whole group. After dinner, it was like Jin had never left.

They picked up the pieces, the pieces of his heart, and held them in their hands, never letting go.

This was so lovely. I can see Ueda as the type that many would try to take advantage of, and because he's so sensitive, he'd be really hurt by it. And yay for JunDa! :D

Good job writing this. I felt really bad for Tatsuya in the first couple. But the KATTUN part was incredibly sweet. I'll put it up asap.
